Alone – poem

Walking on this dirt track

The bumps beneath my feet like the life that I live

If my tears could be bottled I know I would have swimming pools

I walk alone along this path

Not even birds cross my path

The thought of you in my mind

And what would you reply?

With an empty heart I cry

As I wish you would just reply

As I walk along this dirt road

And I think to myself

I don’t want to be you anymore

The pain that becomes from this

Cuts into my hands as I try to escape life

This dirt tracks just going round and round

The loneliness growing

As I tell myself

I don’t want to be you anymore
