The world of BDSM in words

So, words that relate to BDSM, I will put them A-Z so it is easier, for someone knew to BDSM this will help you for one, you can look at a word search it and find out more about it.  Especially if it is something you might like or not.

 

No doubt, I will have missed some, so feel free to add below any I have forgotten and I will add them, also if you use different words/phrases for the acts listed below.

This list, can be very useful when writing erotica/BDSM scenes.

 

Animal transformation fantasy – fantasy in which the the sub enters an altered mindspace of another species

Abrasion – sexually aroused by rough surfaces.

Aftercare – a time after bdsm when the sub/Dom relax and talk getting ready for normal daily things.

Age play – acting an age a lot older or younger then yourself, Mummy/Daddy no incest!

Animal play – sub acts or dresses as an animal

Auctioned off -a Dom actions a slave off to highest bidder

Bad pain – pain that is outside hard limits, non mutual.

Bastinado – whipping a subs feet

Bdsm – bondage/discipline dominance/submissive sadism/masochism

Bondage – physical restraining

Bottom – a submissive partner during play

Breast bondage – tying the breasts so they are flat against the chest or bulge

Breast torture – torture of the breasts

Breath control – where the dominate controls the submissive breathing

Butt plug – a toy used for your ass the shape helps it stay in place

Chastity – a form of erotic sexual denial or orgasm denial usually by means of a device

Cock and ball torture – torture of the book and balls

Collared – sub or slave that is owned in a intimate loving relationship but not limited to it.

Collaring – a formal acceptance by a Dom of ownership.

Consent – mutual agreement to terms if the bdsm relationship

Consensual non-consensually – a mutual agreement that within defined limits consent will be given without foreknowledge of exact actions planned

Contract – a written out agreement between the dominant and submissive

DM – dungeon monitor a person who supervises the interactions between participants at play party.

Dom – a person who exercises control

Dominate – a person who exercises control

Drop – a feeling of deflation or slight depression that happens after a bdsm scene party or similar

D/s – dominance/submission

Dungeon usually the room or place bdsm equipment is kept

Edgeplay– s/m play that includes a chance to harm, physically or emotionally

Electro-play – the practice of using electrical stimulation on the nerves of the body for sexual stimulation

Endorphin rush – endorphins rush is chemical that are responsible for the high people often get after sex

Erotic sexual denial – keeping another person aroused while delaying or preventing resolution of the feelings

Erotic spanking – the act of spanking another person for sexual arousal or gratification

Fetish – A obsession or delight in a certain item/bodypart/act

Figging – Where ginger root is inserted into the pussy or ass.

Handkerchief codes – A visual sign that indicates to others your area of BDSM interest; a color worn on the left indicates a top, on the right indicates a bottom.
Hard limits – A act or item that someone will not agree to under no circumstances.

Hogtie – To tie up a submissive wrists and ankles, fastening them together behind their back using physical restraints like rope, chains etc
Impact play– This is part of sensation play, dealing with impact such as whips, riding crops, paddles, floggers, etc.
Infantilism – Parent/child or parent/baby role playing.
K-9 roleplay – animal roleplay where the animal being roleplayed is a dog
Kinbaku/Shibari: Is a Japanese style of bondage or BDSM which involves tying up the bottom using simple but visually inricate patterns, usually with rope, also known as the beauty of tight bondin

Limits – What someone won’t participate in (hard limits), or is hesitant to do so (soft limits).
Maintenance -Weekly spankings to cover the little things that might have been missed, remind the submissive to behave and allow the Dominant to release stress.
Masochism -The act of receiving pain for sensual/sexual pleasure.
Masochist – The name given to someone who enjoys pain, usually sexually.
Master/slave -A consensual relations, where one person receives control (Master, Sir) when given it by another (Slave) for mutual benefit.
Mummification -Immobilising the body by wrapping it up, usually with multiple layers of tight thin plastic sheeting. Breathing and other safety measures must be appropriately taken care of, often by leaving the face or mouth open.
Munch – This is what is to refered to for when a group of people that are into BDSM meet up somewhere Vanilla, like a club.
Needle play – Temporary piercings done with sterile needles of varying gauges, usually only for the duration of a scene.
Nyotaimori -Human sushi platters.
OTK -Over the knee (spanking).
Painslut:   Someone who enjoys receiving a lot of pain, and very high degree of pain but may not necessarily enjoy submitting.
Paraphilia –  This is a recurrent and intense way for getting sexually aroused by fantasies, sexual urges or behaviours generally involving non-human objects or suffering/humiliation of oneself or their partner or others close to them.
Pegging -A sexual practice in which a woman penetrates a man’s anus with a strap-on dildo.
Play party -A BDSM event involving many people engaging in scenes.
ProDom -Male professional dominant that charges money
ProDomme -Female professional dominant that charges money
Ponygirl or Ponyboy: Sub is dressed in a pony outfit, with mouth bit and anal plug with a tail. They are often told to prance or behave like a pony.
Pup-play: Sub is made to act like a puppy. The Sub marks, whines, eats from a  bowl, this play is sexual.
Pussy torture -Torture of the female genitals
RACK – Risk Aware Consensual Kink

Sadism -The act of inflicting pain.
Sadist -Person who enjoys inflicting pain, usually sexually.
Safe, sane and consensual – (SSC) a credo used by some BDSM practitioners to determine the appropriateness of BDSM play. Sometimes contrasted to RACK (risk aware consensual kink).
Safeword – A codeword a bottom can use to force BDSM activity to stop – used especially in scenes which may involve consensual force, if the sub is unable to say the safe word because of gag’s or other items in the mouth, they are often given a ball or other object to drop to force the activity to stop.
Scat play -Feces play.
Scene -A time period of BDSM activities. Also used to refer to the BDSM community.
Sensation play -BDSM play where the intent is to push people’s sensory limits, thus exploring texture, sensory deprival, through to whips, flagellation and edgeplay.
Service-oriented submission -A person who enjoys performing a service in a sexual or BDSM environment.
Slave -A personwho consensually gives up total control of one or more aspects of their life to another person (their Master).
Soft limits -Something, someone is hesitant to try, they an be talked into doing it.
Subdrop: A physical condition, often with cold- or flu-like symptoms, experienced by a submissive after an intense session of BDSM play. This can last for as long as a week, and is best prevented by aftercare immediately after the session.
Submissive/Sub -Person that gives up control either all the time or for a specified period (Not to be confused with “bottom” or “slave.”).
Subspace: A “natural high” that a sub (or bottom) gets during a scene or when being controlled. The sub may feel disconnected from time, space, and/or their body, and may have limited ability to communicate.
Switch -Someone who likes being both top and bottom, either in one scene or on different occasions.
Taken in hand -24/7 Male dominance in monogamous marriage, with or without BDSM aspects.
Tease and denial – Teasing and keeping another person aroused but delaying or preventing resolution to the feelings, to keep them in a continued state of anticipatory tension, and heightened sensitivity.
Tit torture -The act of causing deliberate physical pain to the breasts and nipples

Top -Person “doing the action” (contrast with bottom – person receiving the action.) Not to be confused with Dom which is the person who “puts the scene together”.

TPE/Total power exchange -A relationship where the dominant or owner has complete authority and influence over the submissive’s life, making the majority of decisions.
Training -Either referring to a short period of time (a scene) or an ongoing effort of the dominant teaching the submissive how to act.
Vanilla -Someone who is not into BDSM. Alternatively, sexual behaviour which does not encompass BDSM activity.
Warm up -The period at a beginning of a BDSM scene which involves gentle play.
Wax play -The top drips hot wax on the bottom
